Jon E

Jon was born and raised in Minnesota, just south of the Twin Cities area. He grew up playing sports, enjoying the outdoors, and dreaming about playing professional baseball and riding horseback through the canyons of the West. Jon graduated from University of Northwestern – St. Paul with a degree in Physical Education and Health and went on to enjoy substitute teaching and coaching baseball in local suburban communities.

After having taught in the classroom setting, he became increasingly aware of his desire to explore innovative ways to both impact young people and challenge himself daily. It was around that time that he was introduced to wilderness therapy.  Since then he has enjoyed the uniqueness of working with youth in the context of the outdoors.

The wilderness provides countless opportunities for emotional, spiritual, mental, social, and physical growth and compels one to further understand what it truly means to know and be known. It is in light of these things, coupled with a spiritual sense of responsibility, that Jon seeks to facilitate a powerful, therapeutic wilderness experience for youth who have had a difficult time navigating their journey through adolescence.

When not working, Jon enjoys spending time camping, canoeing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, beading, reading and trying new things.
