Kenya L

Kenya grew up in New Mexico and spent much of her childhood immersed in nature. She used backpacking, mountain biking, and rafting as a means to explore the wilderness areas around Silver City, NM. Her passion for exploration and outdoor recreation continued to grow as she discovered white water kayaking while living in Oregon, and rock climbing when she lived in Yosemite Valley. Once she settled in Moab, UT, she started guiding on the Colorado river as well as canyoneering and rock climbing.

When Kenya discovered wilderness therapy it felt like a perfect fit. She was seeking something that felt more meaningful than recreational guiding. Wilderness therapy is an opportunity for her to share her deep connection to wild places while helping others find comfortability in new and challenging experiences. It is a place for her to continue to learn and grow alongside clients and co-staff.

Kenya works as a field staff as well as an Adventure Programing guide. She is able to implement her prior experience with high-angle rope systems while sharing her passion for rock climbing, and encourage clients to step out of their comfort zones for the purpose of self-growth and discovery.
