Blythe is an energetic, fun loving, and hardworking individual. She was born in San Diego, CA, and grew up in Boulder, CO and Newburyport, MA, which introduced her to her love of the sea, wilderness, and physical activity. Blythe has always loved the outdoors and spent summers on the Merrimack River, the Atlantic Ocean or at the beaches near Newburyport. In the winter she plays ice hockey and skis.

Blythe’s spirit of adventure has taken her all over the world, including visiting Thailand for a month, Europe for a summer, and Japan for 2 weeks. During high school, she was a student with Ocean Classrooms for a semester, sailing around the Caribbean, then up the east coast to Maine on a replica wooden schooner. She loved it so much that she worked as a deckhand, educator and medical officer for the same program for over 10,000 nautical miles.

In college, she spent a winter semester with NOLS in Wyoming, Utah and South Dakota. Blythe graduated from Western State Colorado University with a degree in Outdoor Education. She has her Wilderness First Responder certification and has a wide variety of outdoor adventure experiences. She has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, worked as a ranch hand and guide in Patagonia, Chile, and backpacked all over the mountains in the western US. Prior to joining Elements, Blythe taught at the Merrohawk Nature School in Newburyport, MA. Blythe enjoys working with young people and helping others.
