Kat B

Kat immigrated to the US from Germany when she was young and settled into upstate NY as the first generation. Having a love and curiosity for the outdoors, math and science, she decided to pursue a degree in Environmental Engineering from SUNY-ESF. Shortly after graduating, Kat moved to Portland, OR where she worked as an engineer and business developer for larger scale renewable energy projects for three years.

During the onset of the pandemic, Kat was inspired to quit the corporate life, buy a van and take a year off. In that time, she traveled all over the country, fell in love with climbing & canyoneering, continued to nurture her passion for snowboarding & backpacking and adopted a pup! Though a lifelong outdoor enthusiast, she gained a much deeper connection with both the natural world and those she has encountered while living on the road.

Kat believes there are intrinsic healing properties found while living in a community in the wild which is why she decided to pivot her path into the wilderness therapy space.
