Sam C

Sam grew up in Saratoga Springs just south of the Adirondacks region of upstate New York. It wasn’t until later in high school, however, that Sam realized his love for the outdoors. During one summer, he decided to embark on a journey to climb all 46 peaks over 4,000 feet in the park. In doing this, Sam joined the exclusive Adirondack 46’er club.

After that summer, he was hooked on hiking. Sam decided to attend the University of Tennessee (partly due to its proximity to The Great Smoky Mountains) to study Biology and Sustainability. While new to the Utah area this summer, he plans on moving out to Salt Lake City full time soon after graduation.

Sam is a big believer that discomfort and new experiences lead to individual growth. Being a Field Mentor is a great fit as it combines this belief with also his love for the outdoors.

In his free time, you can find Sam reading, watching sports, and learning to play the ukulele.
