Aria H

Aria was born and raised in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Growing up, appreciating nature’s beauty and being empathetic and caring towards others were very important to her and her family.

Throughout middle and high school, she enjoyed playing soccer, running around the woods, and making friends with everyone she met. She attended Cairn University near Philadelphia, PA for their Urban Ministry First Year program and then their Health/Phys Ed program but found her heart longing to be in the outdoors not in a classroom. She transferred to Montreat College near Asheville, NC in 2017 to pursue a degree in Outdoor Education with a concentration in Adventure Education/Rock Climbing and a minor in Adventure Based Counseling.

Aria believes in the power of nature to bring healing but also in the power of adventure sports such as climbing, rappelling, and rafting to push us past our limits and uncover our true potential and abilities.

She is currently a Senior at Montreat and aside from attending her classes she helps run their Outdoor Adventure Club, works as a Challenge Course Facilitator, and helps at local camps leading outdoor trips and teaching outdoor skills classes. She also enjoys working as a lifeguard and wants to continue her training past her Wilderness EMT certification to get more involved with Search and Rescue and other wilderness emergency medical training.

When not in the field, you can find her rock climbing, avoiding peanuts at all costs, exploring new places, finding new flavors of tea, eating dark chocolate, and road tripping in her Subaru Forester named Leo.
