Saul H

Saul grew up in the heart of West Virginia, spending time wandering the woods of Appalachia. The diverse climate afforded him the opportunity for backpacking, skiing, rafting, swimming, and climbing. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Concord University and a B.S. in Environmental Microbiology from West Virginia University. It was during his time with WVU’s outdoor programming that he honed his ability to lead people into the wilderness.

Seeing the transformative power these experiences held for himself and others alike inspired Saul to continue the path of experiential learning. After graduation, he became a climbing instructor in the New River Gorge National Park. He saw the potential of using adventure as an instrument for personal growth, which led him to pursue an interest in wilderness therapy and brought him to Elements. He believes in empowering individuals through the promotion of curiosity, self-efficacy, and authenticity.

Saul is a Wilderness First Responder and an AMGA Single Pitch Climbing Instructor. His free time is often spent playing drums, reading, and finding inspiration outdoors.
